It’s August in Phoenix. It’s hard not to be cranky when tackling Day 60+ of consecutive, 100+ degree, sunny days. Especially since you know you’ve probably got another 45 or so days to go before the weather is enjoyable. But today my experience was especially bright. As I rounded a corner in the middle of a morning walk, I noticed a lovely offering in someone’s driveway. A chalkboard read, “Enjoy a water. Do small things with great love.” There was a bucket filled with iced water bottles, plus a bowl with ice water for dogs and some dog biscuits. I don’t know who lives there, but I felt cared for. What a great way to start the day. Thank you, neighbors.
